Ronnie I. Rizek is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor-Associate. He has received his Bachelors of Arts in the field of Psychology from East Carolina University. He has also obtained his Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Human Services from Wake Forest University. He has been heavily involved in the field of counseling for 5 years. He began as a crisis counselor on the national suicide hotline, before working his way to a position as an Intensive In-Home Qualified Professional. In this time, he has had the pleasure of working with a wide range of individuals from various populations. He has worked extensively with families, children and adolescents, particularly in their homes in uncontrolled environments.
Some of the areas of diagnosis that he has worked extensively with have been PTSD/trauma, depression, conduct-related disorders, parental skills training, anger management, and psychotic disorders. He has a passion for working with individuals and families suffering from dysfunction due to deficits in communication and understanding with one another.
His previous experiences working in Intensive In-Home has provided him with the understanding that environments can often shape the way an individual thinks and behaves. It is important to not only make the necessary changes in one’s self, but their environment as well so that the environment itself can provoke positive change in overall quality of life.
